Indonesia Target Market

Indonesia will become one of Papua New Guinea’s staunch trading partners. 

Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Richard Maru says, more business opportunities will be negotiated with Indonesia. 

Mr Maru said discussions between both governments led to some success that includes the visa on arrival and opening of flights from Jakarta to Mt Hagen then to Port Moresby.

Mr Maru said the business market between both countries must be opened. 

“The focus is to growing the trade between Papua New Guinea and Indonesia,” 

An advance team will visit West Papua to talk with the Indonesian Government on business opportunities  

“We have to look at opportunities to embrace this realtion,” 

Other opportunities include shipping services that are part of the exciting investment for Papua New Guinea. 

“Trade is a way to market our beautiful country. We have to ensure our produce is sold oversea. So we will be look to market some of our products like cows to Indonesia,” Maru said.
