By Dion Kombeng – EM TV Sport, Port Moresby

As the Hunters prepare for their first trial match of the season against the Penrith Panthers next weekend, PNGRFL Chairman praised the Hunters program and deemed it’successful over the last two years.

With a number of senior players in the side leaving the team to other rugby league competitions overseas, this year, the SP PNG Hunters will see a number of new fresh talent join the team on field.

Coach Marum has faith in the young talent on board with the Hunters and says that he is excited to see how they will perform when the season commences.

Coach Marum has also just returned from Brisbane where he spent a week working under master coach, Wayne Bennett.

The Hunters will open the National Football Stadium next weekend, in a trial match with the Panthers New South Wales squad. The Panthers are said to have the experience of a number of NRL regulars, including Jamie Soward.
