Hunters Defeat East Tigers

The SP PNG Hunters easily defeated the Easts Tigers 38-8 yesterday at the National Football Stadium.

First try of the match came 20 minutes into the first half after Butler Morris picked up a lose ball before running 50 metres and passing to Justin Olam to score.

Two minutes later, Thompson Teteh got over for his first after a great play by Wartovo Puara.

Teteh crossed over for his second try a few minutes later.

Hunters forward, Brandy Peter, broke through Tigers defence sending Warren Glare under the Posts.

Young Silas Gahuna then crossed the line to get his first for the afternoon, pushing the Hunters lead to 30 – nil at half time.

In the second half, Bland Abavu scored the first for the Hunters.

East Tigers bounced back with two tries to Dane Chang and Jeremy Hawkins.

Justin Olam then sealed off the Hunters victory with a try on the final hooter.

The Hunters will play the Ipswich Jets this weekend at the National Football Stadium on Saturday.
