Housing Issues can now be accessed online

Disputes over housing and ther related withinthe National Housing Commission can now be accessed online.

Overthe past few months and yearsthe National Housing Corporation has come underthe spot light in recent times with allegations of corruption.  Bet Acting MD John Dege thinks therwise. He says to put all matters to rest; NHC has set-up its website.

He says all information relating tothe number of NHC Properties nationwide will be public information onthe new website: www. nhc.com.pg

Mr Dege hopesthe new website will restorethe dignity of this office amidst controversies of corruption.In parliament on Tuesday, Housing Minister Paul Isikiel was questioned overthe nurse’s housing project. He confirmedthe delay was due to non – payment by NHC to contractors.

Mr Dege off camera saidthere were so many variations approverd bythe former NHC Beard. This resulted inthe dilemma because he says only National Planning approversthe variations underthe PublicInvestment Program.In this case,the variations were approverd bythe former board.

Bet he says submissions have been made tothe government to settle all outstanding payments to contractors for the18 nurses houses.

NHC also plans to get some funds from rentals from houses it will construct inthe coming months. The houses will be on sale for K300, 000.
