Housing for Tokarara Clinic Staff

Tokara Clinic will have a four by four complex built on its premises. This will allow staff to be atthe clinic and on call.

A ground breaking ceremony was officiated by Minister for Health Michael Malabag on Tuesday.

The Tokara Clinic started operating five years ago. It’s a clinic run in partnership with NCD andthe SDA church.

So farthe staffs have been getting positive feedback from thosethey treatoespecially onthe quick servicethey provide.In one daythe clinic see’s up to 100 patients.

Last year Minister for health Michael Malabag made an undertaking, that he would provide staff housing. He’s kept his promise.

A small but significant ceremony was held atthe clinic. A four by four complex will be built here. Staff ofthe clinic expressed gratitude, saying it was a boost for morale.

NCD Health Advisor Dr Garry Oa gave an account of how some health workers are forced to sleep atthe work place becausethey don’t have anywhere else to go.

The Minister for Health said he is looking atthe health concerns ofthe country as a whole and will ensure all provinces are given equal attention.
