Hope For Christmas

By Meleasie Goviro, EM TV News, Port Moresby

The Hope and Restoration Ministries Home Centre feeds, shelters and clothes as many as 108 widows and orphans under the care of Pastor Steven Bibaesi, and his wife Anna.

Recently, they also began taking in women living with HIV.

Steven and Anna show selfless devotion to helping the disadvantaged, in that they themselves have no proper housing.

According to Anna, they live with the women and children in a makeshift canvas tent.

Pastor Steven said the majority of the people living there are unemployed, and the festive period is especially hard on them.

Representatives from Goodman Fielder brought the spirit of Christmas to their home with their monthly donations of food supplies, and a little extra for Christmas.

The children were especially excited to have been given flame rugby balls as gifts.

The couple was thankful to Goodman Fielder for their monthly donation, as it came in came when they needed it most.

They are appealing for help from the government and other sectors to help them in their efforts to give the disadvantaged a place to call home.
