Hoax call: Second Bomb threat at Vulupindi

A second bomb threat was made at Vulupindi Haus yesterday. Public Servants vacatedthe building when a second threat was made around 10 am inthe morning.

The first was last Friday tothe Department of National Planning and Monitoring.

According to a source,the call was made tothe office ofthe Secretary for Finance. Police immediately responded with a comprehensive search bythe dog squad, before being declared safe.

Located in along Waigani Drive,the building is a key facility, housing vital government Departments such as Treasury and Finance. It also housesthe Department of National Planning and Monitoring.

Last week Friday,the Department received a call just before lunch time, of a bomb located somewhere onthe floor it occupies.

Public servants vacatedthe building, whilethe Dog Squad carrlied out an inspection ofthe building. Almost an hour later, Police told officers to return asthe threat was a hoax.

The building manager saidthe police will be carrying out futher investigations onthe motive ofthe bomb threat.

NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Andy Bewa saidthere could be a motive behindthe threats andthe Police will not be treatingthem lightly.
