Hekari’s First Win in 2014 NSL Campaign

Hekari United Football Club registered their first win in their 2014 National Soccer League Campaign yesterday.

They outclassed newcomers, Admiralty Manus, six goals to nil at full time.

The win is also a boost for the team as they prepare for the Oceania Champions League in April.

Registering a draw in their first encounter against Eastern Stars, Hekari United was hungry for a win.

But it didn’t come easy as Admiralty Manus put up a stiff challenge.

Admiralty had their chances, but the goals went begging.

Hekari United regained control, forcing a foul.

Solomon Islands import Tutizama Tanito took the penalty, to give Hekari the lead 1 to nil.

Despite Hekari’s dominance, Admiralty was not ready to be outdone, but yet again they could not find the net.

Hekari’s Striker, Nicholas Muri, capitalized on a pass from Raymond Gunemba to extend their lead with 2 to nil, to half time.

Ball handling has proved difficulty for Admiralty, playing upwind but that did not help their cause.

But with years of experience playing in such conditions, Hekari managed to secure four more goals to seal the match 6 to nil.

With a month away from the Oceania Champions League, Hekari is using all its NSL matches to prepare.

In other matches, Oro FC defeated Eastern Stars two goals to nil.
