Hekari Eager for Oceania Football Championships

by Dion Kombeng – EM TV Sport, Port Moresby

Hekari FC has been one of the most consistent sides in the NSL over the last number of years, and have been regular representatives at the Oceania Football Championships, last year they were in a tough pool and just missed out on the finals.

It will be a big challenge to make the finals in the OFC in New Zealand this year, but Team Manager Vonnie Kapi Natto believes that if they work together, they can make it.

This year’s OFC Championship will be played  in Auckland and Wellington from the 9th to the 23 of April.

Twelve teams will take part and Hekari FC is placed in pool B with Team Wellington, Suva FA, and AS Lossi.

Last year’s Telikom National Soccer League champions Lae City Dwellers will also be taking part in the Champions

League and are in Pool A.
