Grammy-Award winner Shaggy set to perform live at Cosmopolitan

Grammy Winning, Reggae/Pop Superstar Shaggy is set to perform live at Cosmopolitan Club this Wednesday.
The Cosmopolitan, is PNG’s first super club, who aim to bring entertainment to PNG to a whole other level.  The Cosmo’s in conjunction with Sapience Entertainment and Legend FM are making the event possible and they say Shaggy’s concert is going to be bigger than Mampi or even Mario’s.

 

According to MTV artists BETA official site, Orville Richard Burrow, better known as his stage name, Shaggy, hit the Music industry Worldwide in 1993 with his debut album “Pure Pleasure”.

After a decade, he has released 6 albums, two of them which went multi-platinum (and yes one of them was Mr. Boombastic), Shaggy has also had 5 number 1 hits and 11 top ten singles worldwide. He has done performances alongside world famous artists like T-pain, Tamy Chynn, Akon, Collie Budz, just to name a few.

Sapience Entertainment announced this week that The Mr. Boombastic singer is set to arrive in PNG on February 4th and performs live the next day.

According to Chey Scovell, Managing Director for Sapience Entertainment, Shaggy’s concert will be bigger than both Mampi and Mario.

“Because the show is scheduled during the working week, we will begin the concert as early as 7pm with opening acts by local artist while the main show kicking off by 9pm,” he says. “There are only 1,350 tickets available so we encourage the public to buy their tickets early.”, he said.

Shaggy is in the Pacific for his New Zealand Reggae Muffin Tour and on his first stop is Solomon Islands and he’ll be in PNG, on time to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year with us.

All our Shaggy fans, also know that Shaggy is bringing Rayvon. Yes Rayvon, as in the artist who sings with Shaggy for famous hits like “In The Summertime”, “Angel “and “Out of Control”.

Tickets are on sale at the Cosmopolitan reception and it’s K150 for General Entry and the Crystal lounge is going for K300.
