Grade 8 National Exams Begin Today

Grade Eight National Examinations officially began today with over 10,000 students in Papua New Guinea sitting for their Written Expression Paper.

In the Nation’s Capital, students turned out in numbers and freely shared their experience about their first paper.

Many said this is their time to sit for an exam after eight years of primary education.

Some felt a bit nervous, but were able to manage and complete the paper in time.

“We were quite nervous but after the paper today, we will sit with confidence tomorrow,” Elijah Supul said.

Others said they had no difficulty in answering the questions because they took up remedial classes and mock exams.

Student Elizabeth Maiko said she made it through by doing it well.

Another student, Waleta Tamari, said she really enjoyed doing her exam and she gave her best.

Christopher Sarufa added, it was fine and simple.

All the students we spoke to, were happy and are looking forward to the other exams that are scheduled for the week.
