Grade 12 students in Papua New Guinea have completed 15 out of the 19 examinations for the Higher School Certificate.

At least 10,000 students sat for their Business Studies and Geology papers today.

Internal invigilators at the Gerehu Secondary School in Port Moresby say, the exams are on schedules and will be completed this Friday.

Gerehu Secondary School students from Port Moresby are sitting for their final exams this week.

School principal, Martin Kenehe, says over 500 students at Gerehu Secondary will be competing for a space at either a College or University in the country.

Welda Saksi is a student who has just completed her business studies exams today.

He said her interest lies in Human Resource Management and she aims to further her studies at a tertiary institution.

For Gerehu Secondary School, students are taking their exams in at least four different classrooms.

External invigilators say since the start of the exams last Monday, students have been completing their exams on time.

Gerehu Secondary School has the highest number of students sitting for the HSC Exams this year.

Their challenge is the competition they will have with other grade 12 students across the country in securing a place at Universities or colleges.
