Goilala people want update on vacant Parliament seat

By Stanley Ove Jnr. – EM TV, Port Moresby

Community leaders from the 3 LLGs of Goilala District raised concerns over the vacant seat of the Goilala District Open seat. They said they want the Electoral Commission and the National Government to update them on what will happen next for the Goilala people.

However, a greater concern was the lack of Government service in the district over the last 9 months after the untimely passing of their MP Daniel Mona early this year.

Adrian Siperi from the Guari and Woitape LLG said the Tapini to Port Moresby Highway has gone from bad to worse after the recent heavy rains in NCD and Central Province.

Siperi called on the Works Minister, Francis Awesa, to also look into this highway as it links all corners of Goilala to Tapini Station where they receive much of their services.

They also urged their District Leaders to go back to Goilala and update the people on what will happen next after the vacant seat of the Goilala Open.
