Goilala MP Daniel Mona has commendedthe government’s mover to disband Petromin PNG Holdings.
However,the operation of Tolukuma Gold Mine is his major concern.
Mona said he’s been in discussion withthe mine executives while awaiting audience with Prime Minister Peter O’Neill to deliberate overthe mine’s asset management.
While it’sthe cabinet’s prerogative to transfer all mine assets intothe newly established Kumul Mining Holding Limited,the MP’says it’s not inthe interest ofthe mine operations.
He saysthere are a lot of outstanding issues that need addressing before such a mover can be viable.
Issues outstanding include MOU arrangements, andthe liabilities owed tothe villages downstream ofthe Angabanga River.
