GOC To Finalise Games Sports Plans

The Pacific Games Organising Committee is now at the crucial stages of finalizing plans, for the Games in July.

In their second meet tomorrow, technical delegates from all 28 international federations for each of the sporting codes will discuss the Games sports schedule, as well as other technical and operational matters.

Chief Executive of the GOC, Peter Stewart stressed the importance in the roles technical delegates play, saying, “It is important that they get an updated overview of the preparations, and that we are compliant with that is required to deliver the Games.”

With 121 days out from the Games, Stewart says, from this meeting, the delegates will look at locking down the sports schedule, and confirming the technical officials.

While all operational issues are left to the GOC to carry out, team PNG Chef de Mission Richard Kassman has been emphatic on athlete’s preparations, guaranteeing their readiness.
