Garaina Leaders Plea

By Jack Lapauve Jnr – EMTV News, Port Moresby

Two Community leaders of Garaina in Morobe Province are concerned about ethnic clashes in the Waria Valley.

They say ethnic clashes are now widely predominant after 8 houses were burnt to ashes following an argument over land.

The leaders have urged youths not to retaliate, and let police and community leaders hold peace talks.

They say tension is high and police presence is needed in the Waria Valley communities.
