Gabaka Land Deal Under Scrutiny

Attorney General Kerenga Kua announced today thatthe Gabaka land deal is now under scrutiny.

Department of Justice and Attorney General have been asked to investigatethe sale of this land.

The sale of this piece of public land has drawn negative criticism fromthe public sincethe deal was made public.

Minister Kua says he was approached this morning by Minister Allen to sanction an investigation intothe sale of this land.

He said this case is of public interest andthey will investigate for compliance issues.

He said allowing land to private hands is not wrong; however, it must be done right.

Mr. Kua says from media reports and ther information available so far,they already have a case butthe investigation will be to ensure all information is accurate beforethey take it to court.

He says ifthey find anomalies inthe sale of land,the department will file to nullifythe sale contract.
