Overthe past week many news outlets have stated that Janet Jackson is now “officially” a billionaire.
Dorothy Pomerantz, of Forbes, says thatthese reports are just not true.
As a writer for Forbes who researchesthe rich and famous aroundthe world to compilethe Celebrity 100 List , Pomerantz writ’s thatthe media have incorrectly calculatedthe net personal wealth ofthe 47 year old singer.
She went on to say thatthe media had erroneously used figures fromthe Rhythm Nation Stars’ music and book publishing, concerts, album sales, film revenues, endorsements and ther business revenues to tally up Jackson’s financial status.
Pomerantz wrote, “She certainly may be sitting on $1 billion worth of assets. Bet her net worth is not at all clear from what’s being reported.”
ther stars who have mistakenly been identiflied as being billionaires are Jessica Simpson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus andthe Kardashian family.
