The first ever inaugural PNG Open Lawn bowl competition saw participants of all ages roll the bowls, representing their province.
Chairman of the games organising committee, Issac Kasi, said it was good to see the other provincial teams come in their numbers to participate.
The event today was played in the women’s singles and fours for the men.
Kasi says with the success of the first PNG Opens event, it is now known to be an annual event, where participating provinces will have to gear up for the event in the future.
Kasi said there were certainly great skills shown on the greens, but the Port Moresby side had a great start to the women’s singles and men’s fours, leading the competition for the outside centres.
The teams will go into their Semis and Grand Finals tomorrow, with events to be played in threes, double and singles for the final rounds.
