The PNG Touch Federation (PNGTF) quietly conducted their final trial selection in Port Moresby today at Murray Barracks.
Despite the heat and humidity, the players’ management and coaching staff pushed on through the two – day event to complete their fitness assessments.
The PNGTF conducted its final selection trails in Murray Barracks over the weekend, with their final fitness assessment which ended yesterday.
The train on squad will be trimmed down to a 14 man and women team respectively for tournaments in Coffs Harbour, Sydney, the Northern Territory League and Queensland State Championships in Australia next month.
President of the PNGTF, Ces Lae, appreciates the support they have received from the PNG Sports Foundation, but said that they still face challenges along the way.
Since the tournaments are held annually, both the players and management are enthusiastic and hopeful about their tour down under.
