Fiji has responded to Papua New Guinea’s trade relation issues highlighted by the Minister for Trade, Commerce and Industry, Richard Maru.
Officials from Fiji’s Biosecurity Authority will soon be in the country to meet officers from the National Agriculture Quarantine Inspection Authority (NAQIA) to resolve any pending trade issues between Fiji and PNG.
Minister Maru assured Fiji of PNG’s co-operation as it is in both country’s interest to get a speedy resolution to the trade impasse.
Fiji’s Industry, Trade and Tourism Minister, Faiyaz Siddiq Koya, is optimistic that discussions between Fiji’s Biosecurity Authority and PNG’s NAQIA will resolve the matter and open discussions on a range of other commodities of trade for both countries.
