Fairfax Nine Tournament Draws to a Closer

In an entertaining round robin Fairfax nines tournament over the past weeks has drawn to a close this afternoon.

Kicking off the first knock out round fixtures with the Koiari Nagavas up against the Avanaimo Brothers.

They went out all guns blazing on Avanaimo, punching through middle defence picking up tiring forwards before crossing over the line to post points on the board.

The score was levelled at 10 all but soon Nagavas extended the lead to 18 points on the hooter. POM Fire Balls were instrumental throughout the duration of the game but it was POM Diwai who prove their might knocking out Fire Balls by 16 points to 14.

It was the clash of the Titans between the Rovanama and the famous Freeway Bumpers who lock horns in the most attaining match of the afternoon. Rovanama however, came out victors thumping the Bumpers 20 points to 16.

 In the women’s clash, NCD will go up against the Barbarians in Grand Final play off,  for the cup while Kone Stones will take on Royals in the second and third play-off for the plate and POM Diwai earn themselves a silver wear finishing fifth.
