Facebookers Warned

President oPNG Computer Society, Mick Nades has warned againstthe use of facebook.

President Nades saidthe social media network is simply selling user’s privacy as experienced inthe international community.

ThPNG Computer Society is a professional body where computer experts meet to exchange views on industry trends. The Society held its first quarterly seminar atthe HolidayInn Hotel in Port Moresby.

The seminar was well –attended by ICT Service providers. President Mick Nades said as information technology becomes part of people’s business today,there is an increase of avid facebook users. He therwise warned againstthe use.

The members also heard presentations onthe use ofInformation Technology by service – providers and how ICT improvers daily systems such as banking transactions, traffic systems and general office use

Another presentation by Professor Dr Mark Solon from IBe highlightedthe need to promote ITwomen inthe workforce.

The Papua New GuineaComputer Society was established in 2006 withthe aim to promote ICT professionals.
