Sport Educator’s program

The High Performance Centre, in Partnership with the Oceania Sports Educator’s Program, and PNG Olympics Committee, carried out a three day educator program to up-skill master sports educators.

The competency based program encourages participants to teach others the skills they’ve learnt.

With the course being hosted for the second time, and a first for the High Performance Sports, participants will be able to apply their new skills in future events, and be able to play a role in their community as sports educators.

High Performance Director, Aaron Alsop, said this course is one way of creating educators in Papua New Guinea who can one day teach others, and keep the cycle moving.

Four participants who took part in the course today were from Special Olympics PNG, and are now able to teach their colleagues about the sports educator program, as well as using it through their work with Special Olympics.
