Writers in the country have been urged to write more about PNG’s rich historical culture.
While launching the novel ‘Endurance”, author Tim Griffiths, says PNG must write about the past for future generations.
While launching the novel “Endurance”, author Tim Griffiths spoke highly of the rich history of wars and culture of PNG.
But his novel focuses on life of a photographer, Frank Hurley who is captivated by everyday life prior to independence. However, Griffiths’ is merely a concern with the amount of information PNG is not writing about. “ A lot of information is dying out, the only way to preserve it is through writing”, said Griffiths.
The novel describes the life of Frank Hurely who played an important part in the history of World War 2 with his photographic encounters.
Prior to launching the novel, Sinasina Yongomugl MP Kerenga Kua said the book is a must-read for everyone.
The novel was launched at the Royal Papua New Guinea Yacht Club and witnessed by family and friends.
