Electronic Billboards for Lae

Lae City will shortly have electronic billboards similar to the ones on top of the King Kakaruk fast food outlet and the Super Value Store at Boroko in Port Moresby.

Yesterday, at the Youth Commission office here in Port Moresby, Lae Open Member and Minister for Youth, Religion and Community Development, Loujaya Kouza, presented a cheque worth K130, 000 to Ad Effects Limited’s Media Manager, Charles Jones for the construction of the Bill Boards.

The Minister outlined that over the past month, there has been a lot happening in Lae District but the people are not aware of some of the good things that have happened, and so the screens will be used to televise all the community projects that are going to happen in Lae district.

The set-up of the screens will also coincide with the upcoming PNG Games to be held in Lae in November this year. So far it has been pretty quiet and the Minister intends to bring the spirit of the game to the City by setting up the screens which will have the count down to the games on them.

The Minister also said she is looking for other electricity alternatives like Hydro and Solar generated power that will power the screens when there is a blackout.

There will be three bill boards set up in various parts of Lae. One at Eriku on top of Papindo, the other at Top Town on top of SVS and one at Lae Market on top of Seeto Kui.
