Jiwaka Governor William Tongamp has commended his people for behaving well duringthe week – long Provincial Election Petition Court last week.
The Petition was filed against him by former AnglimpSouth Waghi MP Jamie Maxtone Graham. He relinquishedthe open seat to run for the Jiwaka Provincial Seat in 2012. Following his defeatohe has taken Governor Tongamp to courtoclaiming irregularities inthe election result.
Outsidethe Minj Court House, supporters of both men turned out in numbers to hearthe results ofthe proceedings. Heavy police presence from Western Highlands and Jiwaka helped to controlthe crowd.
The proceedings will resume this Wednesday.
