By Fabian Hakalits – EM TV News, Port Moresby

Christians around the world celebrated Palm Sunday to begin the Holy Week.

Fr Dominic Maka from the Saint Mary’s Cathedral Port Moresby said that Palm Sunday begins the Christian calendar and strong foundation where the faithful reflect on their faith, as Holy Week commences.

“Its solemn meaning is that God reigns. Palm Sunday opens the most important week of Christian calendar.”

Christians around the world gathered in worship, to commemorate Palm Sunday animating Christ entry into Jerusalem as King of all mankind through palms.

Easter Triduum is the period of three special days in the Holy Week depicting the life of Christ;  Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday, the suffering, the death and the resurrection of our Lord.

It’s the Pascal Mystery of Salvation, Christ victory over sin and death that we are called to serve.

The Passion of Christ is animated on Good Friday, where Christians around the world walk the Stations of the Cross.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.
