Easter operations for police inthe nation’s capital began yesterday.
Metropolitan Superintendent Andy Bewa reported sixty alcohol related arrests last night.
The metropolitan superintendent Andy Bewa appealed to residents to celebrate responsibly overthe long Easter weekend.
He said last night 60 drunkards were arrested at various streets in Port Moresby who spent Holy Thursday night inthe Beroko cells.
He said those found drunk and in a disorderly state in public places will pay a fine of K300.00.
Bewa is currently on a patrol downthe Maghi highway, he said police have started conducting 24 hour patrols inthe city and also set up road blocks at various locations.
Those found disobeyingthe law will facethe consequences.
The Easter patrol began yesterday.
