Duban Recontests Madang Open Bi-election

Ousted Member of Parliament Nixon Philip Duban is re-contestingthe Madang open by-election seat.

 

The Madang open seat was left vacantofollowing a court ruling this year, challenged by election petitioner Brian Kramer.

Despite rumours not to contestthe Madang Open by-election, Mr Duban has confirmed his nomination as one intending candidate.

 

Flanked by thousands of his strong supporters, a rally was staged last Friday at Laiwaden Oval, allthe way through Madang town.

 

Duban who is a candidate ofthe Peoples National Congress Party saidthe rally demonstrated solidarity and support for his election campaign andthe work he did during his office term.

 

“I stand to have benefited from that mandate. This is a clear mandate and we will defend it in this by-election,” said Duban.
 

Duban said he respectedthe judiciary power and is looking forward tothe by-election results.
