It will be a battle of David and Goliath when the Digicel Cup kicks off in Lae tomorrow afternoon.
Kemele Hela Wigmen will be going into the grand final as underdogs, while Agmark Rabaul Gurias have been marked as favorites for the prestigious cup.
In a media briefing this afternoon, both teams say they are prepared and will give their best in the 80 minutes of football.
The Hela Wigmen will maintain the same lineup from last weekend’s game, with only an inclusion of youngster Stanton Albert in the team.
Playing as underdogs, the Wigmen will not take their opponents lightly when they meet at the Lae Rugby League Ground tomorrow.
The bulk of management and players is new and the team hasn’t established a concrete playing structure like other franchises.
Despite hiccups with the change of coaching staff this year, the Rabaul Gurias remain confident in taking out the Digicel cup.
The 2012 champions have been dubbed as favorites and have been training over the last two weeks in preparation for the game.
With a few players ruled out of the competition due to injuries, the East New Britain boys will maintain consistency with speed and defence.
Both teams settled in well in Lae last night and supporters have been arriving in the city in numbers to cheer their teams during game day.
Meanwhile, the PNGNRL Board has advised that police and security officials will be conducting strict entry procedures for those going in.
There will be zero tolerance of alcohol and drunkards at the Lae Rugby League grounds.
