Commerce & Industry Department Launches first ever Corporate Plan

The Department of Commerce  & Industry has launched its first ever Corporate Plan for the years 2018 to 2022 today (2 November, 2018).

The Plan aims to promote inclusive economic growth.

Today’s event witnessed by Minister for Commerce & Industry Wera Mori and staff of his Department.

The launch of the Department’s Corporate Plan coincides with the APEC CEO Summit and is viewed as an opportunity to showcase the policies and programs Commerce & Industry is driving towards the Government’s overall goal of promoting inclusive economic growth and Vision 2050.

Minister Mori, says the plan is a guide for the Department in pursuing its vision and mission.

According to Mr Mori, Papua New Guineans have a track record of doing business with multinational corporations on large-scale projects such as the PNG LNG Project and other major resource projects. Hence, he is convinced that PNG can further heighten the level of investment in the various sectors of the economy.

Department Secretary, Andrew Liliura complemented on what the Minister said, adding that a significant initiative under the National Plan is the drive to increase Papua New Guinea’s participation in major resource development projects.

The newly launched Corporate Plan 2018-2022 will be implemented over the next five years.
