Demographic and Health Survey Participants Ready

The Demographic and Health Survey participants are preparing to move out to the nine districts of Morobe Province.

Forty participants, who have undergone a two weeks training, are now qualified to carry out the survey as interviewers and supervisors.

They will be out in the districts for three months, starting next month.

These health workers are now qualified to represent the Morobe Province, in a Demographic and Health Survey.

They are preparing to leave for the nine districts which include Bulolo, Kabwum and Menyamya.

One of the objectives of the Survey is to provide updated population and health data.

The forty health officers took part in a three-day practical on Demographic and Health Survey in Lae District, which now qualifies them to carry out the actual survey.

When coordinating the survey in the districts, the interviewers and supervisors will ask three sets of questions.

These will include questions on household, and separate questions to male and female individuals.

The demographic health survey interviewers together with their Supervisors are now waiting for the National Statistics Office for further arrangements to carry out the survey.

The actual survey will take up to three months before completion.

Oku Daroa, an officer from the National Statistic Office, calls on the NSO to make available resources on time.
