The Court of Dispute ofReturns ofthe 2012 National Elections has dismissedthe Goilala Open petition on Wednesday based onthe competency application filed bythe MP’s lawyer.
Bet Petitioner, and former MP, Mthew Poiya says he will seek a Supreme Court review ofthe decision.
It was argued thatthe five allegations of irregularities and illegal practises againstthe MP were incompetent.
The Court concluded thatthe Petitioner failed to plead sufficient and material facts to substantiate his allegations.
Outsidethe court house, a relieved Mr Mona addressed his supporters withthe court’s decision.
The people saidthe court’s decision is a win for the people of Goilala.
Meanwhile,the petitioner, former MP and runner-up, Mathew Poiya said he will not stop here but will take his case futher withthe Electoral Commission.
The two lLeadersalso exchanged a few words in front oftheir supporters.
Poiya said Mona can continue with his work to bring services intothe province
Mr Mona also appealed to Poiya to respect him, and let him serve his term.
