CPL sponsors Joyce Bay Community – Ginigoada

People living inthe Joyce Bey Community onthe edge of Port Moresby will be receiving some valuable financial training.

The skills will be imparted in a mobile adult education program ofthe Ginigoada Besnis Development Foundation.

It was created to help disadvantaged youths and adults to develop skills for employment or runtheir own businesses. City Pharmacy has stepped in to support.

The financial skills program was launched on Monday atthe Joyce Bey community, with locals, participants, members ofthe Ginigoada Besnis Development Foundation, Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce &Industry and City Pharmacy present.

City Pharmacy isthe sponsor of this program, and due totheir generosity,the program will be delivered free of charge.

City Pharmacy CEO Ravi Singh saidthe organisations support comes as it believes inthe program. CPL sponsored a massive K100, 000 for the financial literacy program, which will be rolled out throughoutthe year at different locations in Moresby South as well asthe ther Moresby electorates.

Participants will be trained onthe Profit & Loss Statementobasic concepts of interest rates andthe basic principles of managing a business, among thers. The training will also have a workshop on Microfinance.

Beard Chairman of Ginigoada and CEO ofthe Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce David Conn encouraged more participants.

Community rep. and councilor Joe Vali acknowledgedthe importance of human development and welcomedthe training for the community.

Sixty people have enrolled inthe Financial Literacy Program butthe number of interest fromthe community in expected to rise.
