A couple from Simbu Province were arrested this morning in relation to a threatening text message sent to NCD Governor, Powes Parkop this week.
Police found the same text message on their phone after searching them. Police have been working hard after a complaint was laid by the NCD Governor, Powes Parkop, for threatening text messages sent to him in relation to the buai ban.
The couple was successfully apprehended by Police at Nine Mile this morning. The arrest was orchestrated by a female officer who called them up yesterday and told them she had bags of buai to sell to them, and they should meet her at 9mile infront of Rouna Quarry.
The couple who reside at Gordons went there in the morning when the police dog unit was called in and they were arrested. The Police searched the couple and confiscated their phones.
NCD Metropolitan Superintendent, Andy Bawa, said they have intelligence information with the names of more suspects involved in threatening the Governor. Those suspects will be brought in as well.
He warned the public not to issue threats to national leaders as the penalties will be tough.
