Residents of Cassowary Road in Lae will soon have access to a health centre.
The health centre, which will consist of five rooms, will be built alongside a new staff house.
The infrastructure, currently under construction, is funded by a resident of the area, Sir Bob Sinclair. When completed, the health centre will play an important role in the community.
This has been a need for the people residing at Cassowary Road, especially women and children.
The construction is headed by Lae Builders, with a team of 10 working against the rainy weather to finish the project on time.
This new health centre, including the staff house, is the first health service in the area. This will make it easy for young and old to access health services in their community.
Currently, the residents are seeking medical treatment from other health centres in the city.
