She has set a new commonwealth record of 111kg in the clean and jerk and settled for silver in the 53 Kilograms division.

The first woman to compete in weightlifting at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games silver medalist was forced to attempt 115 Kg to win in her final clean and jerk.

The veteran weightlifter and a mother of two was considered favorite from the 13 Pacific nations competing at the Glasgow Games with Fiji represented for the first time since 2006.

Fiji was banned from the Commonwealth Games in 2009 after refusing free and fair election.

The ban was lifted in March, with only four months of preparation for the Games.
