Commonwealth Games On EMTV

Team PNG set to march in our national colors at the opening ceremony, led by Steven Kari, who was given the onus for the second time.

EMTV will bring you live the official opening ceremony of the 20th commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

Finally, our Team settled and the opening ceremony kicks off at 9pm today Glasgow time, and PNG time will be on 6:00 am tomorrow, where EMTV will broadcast the event.

The hosting community was working tirelessly behind the scene with all the glitz and glamour just hours away for us to see.

The time has come now for our athletes to take center stage.

And there is no doubt they all will be aiming to deliver the best possible results they can, to lift the standard of PNG at the commonwealth level.

Our athletes have sacrificed much to reach the top of their respective sports, these include hours on end, devoted to training, and impacting on their family life, school and even employment.

All this hard work will now be tested.

The Games will be watched by millions of viewers from around the globe, during the twelve days of competition.

Termed as strong man of the Pacific region and flag bearer at the games, Steven Kari, looks poised to sweep gold.

Kari joins strong US-based athletes including the swimming team, who made the final cut of our travelling contingent.

EMTV will bring the Games starting from Thursday and onwards, after the EMTV National News replay.
