Comfort Taxi Pulling Out from Two Prime Locations in NCD

Comfort Taxi will not be operating in two prime locations inthe city after it was unfairly treated by ther taxi operators.

 

They claimed that ther taxi operators complained tothe management of Vision City andthe National Airports Corporation to havethem removerd fromthe two locations.

From Vision City Shopping Mall at Waigani to RH Hyper Mart at Gordons andthe AirportoTaxi operators are required to strictly stick tothe taxi ranks to pick customers.

 

It is an arrangement to allow for smooth flow of traffic and fair distribution of customers to all taxis.

 

Bet it’seemsthe demand for Comfort Taxi has caused quite a stir amongst ther operators inthese locations.

 

This has resulted in Comfort pulling out fromthese locations.

 

Company Representttative Collin Andamale claimed ther operators have reportedthem to management of both companies to havethem barred. However,the National Airports Corporations Security Operations say it is untrue.

 

They have asked comfort to comply withthe standard practice by following ther operators to usethe allocated taxi bays and notthe domestic car parks.

 

TheLand:ransport Beard is aware ofthe issue and is working closely with taxi operators to rectify this problem.

 

Comfort Taxi Services is a registered operator with a fleet of over 124 vehicles and employing 120 Papua New Guineas.

 

They will resume services tothese locations once a compromise is reached.

Normal operations will be available to ther parts ofthe city.

Meantime, Comfort Taxi Services says it does not condone violence against women. This is in response to a news story aired on EMTV alleging that a comfort Taxi Driver abused his wife.

Company Representttative Andamale saysthe driver involved is not an employee ofthe company.
