George Clooney took home the Cecil. B DeMille Award, at the recent Golden Globe Awards. The award that honours exceptional contribution to the entertainment world, is named after the successful Hollywood filmmaker (Cecil B DeMille), who had also received the award for his film ‘The Greatest Movie on Earth’ in 1952.

Clooney thanked the Hollywood Foreign Press and went on to give an amazing acceptance speech.

“You get to do what you always dreamed to do, and be celebrated…” he told the audience. “So congratulations to all of you for having a good year.”

He went on further gushing about his new wife saying, “Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together I couldn’t be more proud to be called your husband”.

The 53-year old actor ended on a more serious note, remembering the recent terrorist attack on Paris.

“There were millions of people that marched not just in Paris but around the world. And they were Christians and Jews and Muslims. They were leaders of countries all over the world and they didn’t march in protest. They marched in support of the idea that we will not walk in fear. We won’t do it…so Je Suis Charlie.”

The ‘Gravity’ and ‘The Descendants’ star won the significant award after his role in various films, contributing immensely to the film industry, as well as his humanitarian work around the globe.
