With five days remaining before Christmas day, the 15 metres high Christmas tree outside the Vision City Mega Mall in Port Moresby city was on fire.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established, however, according to bystanders they saw the flames starting from the top of the tree.
Bystanders claim that the fire started due to an electrical fault which ignited the flame.
This Christmas tree is one of several Christmas trees erected around the city to celebrate the festive season.
