A very senior staff member of Salamaua High School inthe Morobe Province has been arrested for having sex with a 13-year-old grade six student.
The man, believed to be in his late 50s, began sexually abusing the boy over a year ago.
According to police, his wife became suspicious after he continuously spent time intheir room withthe boy and refused to let her in.
It’s understoodthe boy was enticed with expensive mobile phones and large amounts of cash.
The boy’s parents are also understood to be involved. Police saythe man was also providing financial support tothe boy’s family.
He was arrested on Tuesday and has been brought to Lae for questioning.
This is one of many reported cases of Child sexual abuse in Morobe.
Earlier this year, a man caught abusing a 5-year-old girl was beaten by residents of Papua Compound in Lae City.
