Central Students’ Subsidy

The Central Provincial Government has committed K2 million to subsidise school fees for Central students attending tertiary institutions.

These include universities, colleges and theological institutions. From the total, one hundred and fifty thousand kina was allocated to Central students attending the University of Papua New Guinea, to assist with their fees.

UPNG Central students received their subsidy yesterday, in the form of a cheque of K150,000 which was presented to UPNG accounts.

Deputy Bursar, Norah Lasalo received the cheque on behalf of the university from Mr. Haoda, witnessed by students and office bearers.

Upon presentation, Central Governor, Kila Haoda urged the students to concentrate more on their studies in order to achieve their goals.

Mr. Haoda also assured students that as long as he is in office, he will continue to assist the people of Central Province.

Meanwhile, students attending colleges and theological institutions will also receive their school fee cheques, when they are ready for distribution.
