Central Provincial Transport Authority Donates to Children’s Ward

By Lorraine Gabina – EM TV News, Port Moresby

The festive season is a time for giving. This special time brings attention, especially to the Port Moresby General Hospital Children’s Ward.

The Children’s Ward received donations from the Central Provincial Transport Authority yesterday.

Hoping to make a child smile this festive season, the CPTA Staff and Management took time out of their duties at the provincial transport office to visit and deliver gift hampers containing toiletries, beddings and other goodies to the children at the Port Moresby General Hospital, Children’s Ward.

The Children’s Ward has four divisions and a total of 136 beds. Patients at the Children’s Ward each received a gift hamper of goodies.

CPTA Managing Director, Gari Dogodo, said these gifts are timely as it is the festive season and CPTA is in the spirit of giving. Mr Dogodo said CPTA is reaching out to the children at Port Moresby General Hospital to give them a reason to smile this festive season.

This is one of three donation programs this year under the initiative of the Central Provincial Government. CPTA also donated to Port Moresby Cheshire Home, in April and to the Maternity Ward also at Port Moresby General Hospital in September.

Mr Dogodo added that CPTA in partnership with the Central Provincial Government is looking forward to more such programs in the coming year.
