Central Bougainville Open Counting Resumes

Counting for the Central Bougainville Opens seat has resumed at 6pm this evening.
Returning Officer, Denise Palipal told EMTV News from Arawa all counting officials convened to the Counting centre at the Tupukas Primary School and began with a prayer service after their brief.
 
In South Bougainville, ballot boxes have been moved to the counting centre at the Buin Vocational Centre in preparation for the counting.
 
The counting in North Bougainville was delayed this morning due to payment issue with the venue, which is the Hutjena Secondary School hall, after the school’s board demanded advance payment for the facilities.
 
Acting Election Manager, Desmond Timiyaso told EMTV News this also delayed the briefing and the setting up of the counting materials and equipment.
 
Meanwhile, counting for the Bougainville Regional will be conducted at each respective centre and will be delivered to Buka for quality check, collation of all ballots to determine the absolute majority.
