The Madang National Court refusedthPNG Electoral Commission’s Application to Stay orders for a recount for the Usino Bandi Open Seat.
Petitioner Peter Yama and his lawyer Nickson Kiuk appeared beforethe court yesterday and filed contempt charges againstthe Electoral Commissioner, Andrew Trawen, and certain elections officials involved in last year’s National Election.
Justice David Cannings ruled thatthe Court will decide next Thursday, onthe two applications – for a recount andthe contempt charges.
