Candidate points fingers at Ipatas for manipulating polling

Candidates in Enga province are showing frustration over the way elections are being carried out.

Enga regional candidate Mathew Minapi yesterday expressed his disappointment with how polling is taking place, saying reports he’s received from his village of Pili Kambi in Laiagam, state that ballot papers have been marked without distributing it for individuals to mark it themselves.

He said his village has marked about 4, 200 ballot papers, however there are only about a thousand people living there.

Mr Minapi has out rightly pointed fingers at sitting MP Peter Ipatas and his supporters for manipulating the polling exercise.

A petition has been given to Electoral Commissioner Andrew Trawen on Monday to shift counting officials in the province so that the counting process is not jeopardized.
