More than eighty families and guests took part in the cancer foundation’s biggest morning tea held at the Nature Park in Port Moresby.
The morning tea was a way for families and friends to get together as well as raise funds for the Cancer Foundation’s awareness programs and other activities in the fight against cancer.
Although a new concept for some in Papua New Guinea, the Cancer Foundation has taken a new step in raising awareness as well as fundraising for its programs by having the “Biggest Morning Tea” in the Nation’s Capital.
Chief Executive Officer of Cancer Foundation, Dadi Toka Junior said Cancer Foundation has been focusing all its awareness and programs on mouth cancer in the country and funds raised today will go towards helping the cause.
He added that apart from the awareness programs, screenings for mouth cancer were also conducted.
The cancer foundation has more programs coming up and will be travelling up to the Highlands region to conduct awareness, educating and screening on cancer in the country.
