Businesswomen to Market Artefacts at Waigani Central Car Park

By Meleasie Goviro – EM TV News, Port Moresby

Women can now market their artefacts without having to worry about the cost of renting a place.

PNG Women in Business Founder Executive Director, Janet Sape, in partnership with the CPL group of companies has made this possible.

Sape announced that CPL had reserved half of Waigani Central’s upper car park purposefully for businesswomen to market their artefacts.

Janet Sape said she observed the struggle and made it her duty to find an affordable place for women to market their handy work.

She believes although women were capable of running independent businesses they needed an avenue to market their products.

The market will be open for business every Friday, Saturday and Sunday starting 13 November, Friday this week.

She also hoped to create a network for women in business around Port Moresby as well as promote women’s achievements.

Ms Sape also took the opportunity to promote upcoming talents of PNG like Morris Opeti, Theresa Miria, and Didi Maru, all finalists of Vocal Fusion.

As a mother she felt she had brought enough focus to empowering woman and it was time she gave the same attention to launching the careers of young people.
